The next Common Arc testing is scheduled for July 30 - August 3, 2012 at the Union Hall.  Sign ups will begin Monday, July 2nd for all Local 83 members, and will be open July 23rd for all other local members.

Just a reminder that beginning February 2012, dues will now be $40.10 per month.  Dues may be mailed, automatically deducted from your checking account, or paid by credit or debit card in person at the hall or over the phone Monday through Friday 8-4:30.

Local 26 in Savannah, GA is looking for welders for a new construction nuclear facility in Waynesboro, GA for 3-5 years.  Pay is $27.23/hour working for Shaw.  Must be able to pass a criminal background check.  Call the hall to have a good guy letter sent if interested in this opportunity.

Unfortunately, the International Executive Council has unanimously decided to implement several provisions of the International Constitution regarding assessments and per capita tax increases, which will result in the following:

1. $0.80 per month member monthly dues increase beginning February 1, 2012, making dues $40.10 per month.
2. Field dues will be raised to 4.75% beginning December 1, 2011.

Now our own Governor is literally trying to bring Walker's Wisconsin plan to Kansas. We must mobilize like never before against his visit or we will find our own collective bargaining rights under attack next legislative session.
